The 7 Summits Club team is at Base Camp, but Alex Abramov has already made an important decision
Alexander Abramov, leader of the Everest expedition, reports from the slopes of Everest: Today, the 7 Summits Club "Everest-2026" team is staying at Base Camp. We only went for a short walk below Pumori—a two-hour stroll. The views were excellent. Rustam Nabiev successfully reached Camp 1, having traversed the Khumbu Icefall on his hands in 15 hours. He is resting now. Inspired by his feat, I decided to set a new challenge for myself as well: to climb Everest while fasting. Having the experience of several previous climbs undertaken while fasting, I can say that one’s strength actually increases during a fast. The body focuses its energy and functions more efficiently. Also today, a couple with two children visited us at Base Camp. They spent 12 days trekking from Lukla to reach Base Camp. The children are 7 and 2 years old. True heroes. They hail from Belgorod.
